We enjoyed The Fall of the House of Usher a lot. Here is what we thought about it.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a really good television series and this, I enjoyed a lot. The drama series was created by Mike Flanagan, who also worked on The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and films like Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Gerald’s Game.

Twin siblings, Rodrick and Madeline Usher are heads of the pharmaceutical company, Fortunato, Rodrick is CEO, while Madeline is COO. They have created an empire full of power and wealth. Secrets starts to seep out of the cracks…one by one the heirs began dying to a supernatural force.

The short story, The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe and episodes with titles, A Midnight Dreary, The Tell-Tale Heart, all reminiscence of Poe’s stories, even the characters are part of the Poe’s stories. The cast with Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino as Verna or the Raven, to Carl Lumbly were great.

We find out the reason why the Usher family is dealing with the fall of the family empire. It also reminds us the phrase, be careful what you wish for and that the choices we make have consequences…grave consequences.

If you haven’t seen this series, it should still be on Netflix. We give this series a pretty good A-.
