Essay Short: The Art of Fashion

August 13 / 16 Something new is added to Shadowbox. Essay Short. This is where Shadowbox conducts a short essay on a subject. Today that subject is fashion.   Is fashion art? That’s not only a typical question, but it’s a good question. I wasn’t sure of this at first. I always thought of fashion as the models on catwalks wearing the latest clothes, at a ridiculous price. I never thought about how the lines create a silhouette or an illusion to make a simple fabric to create a one of a kind piece. I didn’t think of this till several years ago. That is when you look at the illustrations from the designers. Just like artists, designers get their inspirations from all places. They come up with patterns, colors, and then once they have the illustration in place, they add the fabric and textures. Film Review: Suicide Squad

August 8 / 16 What happens when you throw a team of the most dangerous people together? And you want them to save the world? Well that’s what’s Suicide Squad is all about. Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) an intelligence operative, wants to assemble a team of the worst criminals for a high risk mission. You have Deadshot (Will Smith) a hitman, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) a psychopath and girlfriend of the Joker (Jared Leto), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) just a petty thief, Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuaye-Agbaje) a cannibalistic monster, El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) an ex-gangster with pyrokinetic powers, and Slipknot (Adam Beach) a mercenary. Last, but not least Waller recruits an archaeologist, Dr. June Moone (Cara Delevingne) who is possessed by Enchantress, a witch-goddess sorceress. Their mission: to infiltrate the city to stop a terrorist attack, but there is more to it than that…….   Suicide Squad is just like a regular comic book film should be. Filled with action, always action. Some of the villains we know, some we don’t. Margot Robbie hit the nail on the …
