Hey everyone! Internet acting a fool today, but the devil’s a lie! Anyway, I went to see Justice League over the weekend. Loved it, but I do have a few things to gripe about.
Yes, I loved Justice League. I grew up watching the cartoon as a kid and now seeing Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the rest of the crew brought a happy smile to my face. I wasn’t sure if DC was going to bring Justice League to the big screen at all.
A few things to gripe about. Why in the world would DC cut some scenes that were in the trailer, but not in the film? Why? We don’t want to linger on each of the character’s origins, but at least give us a small glimpse as to how The Flash and Cyborg got their powers. I can only hope that when the film comes out on Blue-ray/DVD and digital, we can get an uncut look at the movie.
The villain, Steppenwolf was just weak. Ciaran Hinds did the character the justice (haha), but I wish they could’ve done more.
Seeing Gal Gadot back as Wonder Woman was pure joy. You could not have the Justice League without Wonder Woman. She’s pretty much the glue, the heartbeat of the team. She’s just as better in BVS and has the surefire spunk she brought to her own standalone film Wonder Woman. So there was no disappointment with that.
Ben, Ben, Ben….I think you may need to hang up the Batcape. I don’t know about y’all, but I feel Ben Affleck is not into Batman anymore. He’s trying to bless his heart. Just like Bruce, Ben doesn’t know how much longer he has until the time comes to walk away from it all.
Jason Momoa brings a really cool vibe as Aquaman and he’s not bad to look at either. He holds his own against the crew as the legendary Atlantian. You get the feeling you can hang out with this dude while drinking a few beers.
Ray Fisher is a newbie to the world of superheroes. Here is a man who is trying to navigate between being human while most of the time is just a machine. Meanwhile, Fisher is navigating on how to best represent this character. With a somewhat weak script, he is proving his own against the seasoned veterans. Hopefully, he can really stretch his acting chops when Cyborg gets his standalone film.
Henry Cavill, good to see you again. Did you think Superman was gonna stay dead? Really? Back as the red cape wonder, Cavill is not left out on the fun, but what’s going on with his face?
Ezra Miller‘s The Flash is a breath of comic air. Not only can he be serious, but he brings the funny in this most of the time dead serious superhero film. This hottie is just ready to join the group, ready to do good in his life, all the while making sure he’s proving his father innocence in the murder of his mother.
I’m disappointed, but not too disappointed. I expected an action-packed superhero film and I got it. So yes, I’m happy!
In the meantime, hope you enjoy this little video of clips and things!

A new wave of hip-hop artists has come and put their collective stamp in the music industry. Some have managed to swim, while others have drowned. Belcalis Almanzar or Cardi B. is one of those who is swimming right along the sharp waves with aplomb. According to Billboard, she is now the first female rapper to chart her very first three entries in the top 10 positions of the list, simultaneously, on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. You may remember her from the sixth season of VH1 reality tv series, Love & Hip-Hop: New York.
Raised in the Highbridge neighborhood in the South Bronx section of New York City, Cardi B. became an exotic dancer at the age of 19. By 2013, her videos became viral on social media through Vine and Instaram. Cut to 2015, when Cardi B. made her musical debut on Shaggy‘s remix to his single ‘Boom Boom‘, with Popcaan. That same year, she made her music video debut, ‘Cheap Ass Weave’, her rendition of Lady Leshurr’s ‘Queen’s Speech 4’. Cardi B. released a mixtape titled Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1 March 2016. In September 2016, her single, ‘What a Girl Likes’ was part of a collaborative album released by KSR Group titled, Underestimated: The Album.
“a raw and aggressive rapper in the style of Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown.”
-David Jeffries, AllMusic
“unapologetic does not begin to describe the totally unfiltered and sheer Cardi B-ness of Cardi B’s personality. She’s a hood chick who’s not afraid to be hood no matter the setting. Cardi B is Cardi B 24/7, 365, this is why she resonates with people, and that same energy comes out in her music.”
By January, she released her second mixtape, the second installment of Gangsta Bitch Music series. Cardi B signed her first major deal with the recording label with Atlantic in February this year. This past summer ‘Bodak Yellow‘ was released, which became a hit. The single reached the top two of the of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart also becoming number one on the Hot Rap Songs chart and number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Bodak Yellow was certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). In September of this year, Cardi B bagged the top spot of the Hot 100 chart with Bodak Yellow, making her the first solo female rapper to do so since Lauryn Hill in 1998. Adding another diamond to her crown, she became the first female artist to land her first three entries in the top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Not only is Cardi B making waves in music, but also in fashion. Earlier this year she partnered with M.A.C. and Rio Uribe’s Gypsy Sport for an event during New York Fashion Week. She played Mercedes in BET’s Being Mary Jane and she was a guest on the celebrity show Hip Hop Squares. As I said before, some swim, some drown, but Miss Cardi B is swimming and enjoying the ride.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday, be blessed!

One last post for today and yes it’s another call for artists. Artsy Shark is looking for artists to be featured on their website. Below is a brief and detailed info about what you need to do….
Credit source: Artsy Shark
Visual artists in any medium are invited to apply to become an Artsy Shark featured artist.
Each individual portfolio article gives the artist an opportunity to tell their story in their own words, talk about their inspiration and technique, and present their work to our large audience. All features are promoted heavily through social media and email marketing.
Since 2010, over 1,000 artist features have been published on this site. All artist features are permanent and may be viewed here.
Artists who submit an application enter a competitive juried process which has a jury fee of $20. Not all artists will be offered a feature. Any artist who has previously been featured may not apply again. Selection is made through viewing the applicant’s art website or other online presence. All artists will be notified of the results of their application within three weeks of the application deadline.
A link to the featured artist’s own website appears prominently in each article. This gives artists the opportunity to make sales of their work, and capture email addresses of interested readers on their own site. Artsy Shark receives no fees or commissions whatsoever for any sales or contracts that result from being featured.
Enjoy the rest of your Hump Wednesday, be always blessed!
