November 21, 2014 Hello and Happy Friday! Most of you thought that today wasn’t coming, but here we are. We’re going to Oklahoma City to visit the Red Earth Museum. RED EARTH MUSEUM From the website: Red Earth, Inc. promotes the rich traditions of American Indian arts and cultures through education, a premier festival, a museum and fine art markets. History Red Earth, Inc. began in 1978 with the establishment of the Center of the American Indian, a museum dedicated to showcasing Native American arts. In 1987, a group of influential community and tribal leaders founded the Red Earth American Indian Cultural Festival to showcase Native American dance and art. The two groups merged in 1992 to create Red Earth, Inc., which is now one of the most respected organizations of its type in the United States. Red Earth hosts a wide collection of more than 1,400 Native American fine art, pottery, basketry, textiles, and bead work.
