Film Review: Kong: Skull Island

March 13 / 17 I’m sure most of you spent time in theaters to see Kong: Skull Island. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Rodgers, this latest adventure is different from Peter Jackson’s version. First, it’s not three hours long and second, it gets to the point. Set in 1973, an expedition is heading to Skull Island. The expedition includes government agent Bill Randa (John Goodman), a young biologist Houston Brooks (Corey Hawkings), former British Special Air Service Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), a pacifist photojournalist Mason Weaver (Brie Larson), a US Army Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) and a handful of other characters. They begin to drop seismic explosives to map out the island….not only does that shake up the wildlife, but a huge creature, a 100-foot tall ape known as Kong and he’s is not too thrilled to see them coming on his home turf. We find out that Goodman’s character is really working for Monarch. This the same secret organization that was featured in 2014’s Godzilla, so I’m sure you know where this …

Shadow Spotlight: Coco Chanel

March 13 / 17 Hello! Change of plans for Shadow Spotlight. In honor of Women’s History Month, the spotlight falls on Coco Chanel. The women before us have carved a path in many areas and Chanel carved her path in fashion. She made history in fashion. Chanel continues to this day to inspire what fashion is. Found a short documentary and a two-part 1969 interview with the woman herself. I hope it will give a glimpse of who Coco was as a fashion designer and a woman who wasn’t afraid to put her own stamp in the world.             The interview is in French. All you have to do is click on the cc button on the lower right-hand corner. Then click settings, go to auto-translate, click English and there you go.                                                 featured image: Philippine Tatler, Pinterest, cbys.tk, & The Red List
