Hello, hello….Friday is here and this is the last of Kids Summer Edition 2015 for At the Museum. Here in my area, the kids started school Monday. Yes, that early! While some areas in the US, the kids start later in the month. Let’s take a look at two museums for the kids and everyone else.

HUNTINGTON MUSEUM OF ART
All our programs in the Education Department strive to instill a love for learning. Whether it is with a group of energetic preschoolers or a seated tour for seniors, an art camp for elementary students or an opera class, training for docents or designing curriculum-based tours for students, all Education Department energy goes toward providing opportunities for visitors to be active learners, to make personal discoveries, to explore new and different worlds. TAMPA MUSEUM OF ART
Summer Art Camp
Students will explore classical art traditions and contemporary art concepts while experimenting with a variety of art media to create original works of art. Inspired by gallery visits, the museum landscape, and layers of art history, students will enjoy a summer filled with art.
Due to the popularity of the Museum’s Summer Art Camp program, all classes require advance registration and payment. Class sizes are limited to 20 students per session.
Join us Saturday mornings in the Museum’s Golding-Scher Classroom for Art Spot. The free drop-in program offers children and families a chance to share a creative moment making art projects inspired by works of art on display in the galleries. There is a different facilitator-guided project each week designed by art instructors to be fun and fulfilling for all ages.
Every Saturday 11:00am – 2:00pm. Free. No registration required.
Other kids and family activities include:
Military Appreciation Day
Gallery Activity Cards
