July 16, 2014 Hello again! We’re focusing on one of the art residence of Vermont Studio Center. By the looks of the place, I say this center would be one of the places I would love to go. Peace, tranquility, and creativity indeed! Since 1984, the center has provided an outlet to help artists to reach their potential and give them a creative outlet. It is the largest international artists’ and writers’ residency program in the nation. With 50 writers and visual artist per month. The center offers: 2 to 12 week studio residences for, again 50 writers and visual artists per month You have private studio space Simple, private rooms Opportunity for focused, independent work and to share your work Large and diverse creative community Three annual fellowship deadlines are: February 15, June 15, and October 1 The best time to apply is at least six months in advance of your preferred start date. July 9, 2014 Hey! I promised you guys that I’d return with some art news did I not? I’ve found ten art residences in the US. Yes, you may have missed the deadline to apply, but that won’t stop you from applying next year. McColl Center for Visual Art I-Park Foundation, Inc. The Cleveland Foundation: Creative Fusion International Artist In Residence Program ASU Art Museum International Artist Residency Program at Combine Studios I will choose one of these residences for next Wednesday’s Art Scene. There are many art residencies to choose from, but don’t rush. Take the time to look through to see which one is just right for you. I’ve checked on two contests from deviantART, World of Water and The Transformation Challenge. Both contest are closed, but no winners to these contests yet. June 18, 2014 Hey! We’re still in the search of art residencies for this summer. Most residences have already started the summer and the fall deadlines may have passed, but you have the time to choose which one suits you. So don’t worry your little head off! Today we’ll head over to what Ox-Bow (which just celebrated 103 years) has to offer. Located at Saugatuck, Michigan, at the edge of Tallmadge Woods, Ox-Bow has a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The campus is made of several studios: a painting and drawing studio, a paper/book studio, a ceramic studio, an open air metal sculpture studio, and an open air glassblowing facility. The deadlines for Summer was April 6 (2 and 3 week residency June 1 – August 16, 2014) and the one for fall was last month on May 11 (2 to 5 week residency August 31 – October 4, 2014).
