Poetry Reads: National Theatre

3.5.22

Good Evening again. I have something for those who love poetry. This was recently uploaded on the National Theatre‘s YouTube channel. Titled A Poet for Every Day of the Year: National Theatre Talks held in memory of Helen McCrory. If you don’t remember Helen McCrory, she was an British actress who appeared in film, television, and the stage. I remember her mostly in the Bond film, Skyfall, and the Harry Potter films. She passed away from breast cancer in April 2021. Her husband, actor Damian Lewis, who I recognize in many films, especially 2003’s Dreamcatcher, is also in the poetry reading event.

Here is an little description:

Join us to journey through a calendar year in poetry, read by actors on stage at the National Theatre. Allie Esiri and Damian Lewis were joined by friends including Simon Russell Beale, Fay Ripley, Danny Sapani and Lesley Sharp. Chris Riddell live drew the evening.

A Poet for Every Day of the Year is dedicated to Helen McCrory, who took part in some of these poetry evenings in previous years. Signed copies of A Poet for Every Day of the Year are available from the National Theatre Bookshop. Every purchase supports the work of the National Theatre: https://shop.nationaltheatre.org.uk/p… This event was performed on the Lyttelton stage, National Theatre, London on Tuesday 25 January 2022.

From start to finish, that was a lovely event. Hope you enjoyed too. Until next time, enjoy the rest of your weekend, be safe, healthy, and blessed.
