The Art of Music and Dance

The Sacramento Fine Arts Center in Carmichael, CA announces a call to artists for The Art of Music and Dance, June 29 – August 1, 2021. Cash awards. Juror: TBA. Last year, Sacramento Fine Arts Center launched a new “Art of” series. This year’s art of theme is music and dance. Open to all 2D and 3D mediums with a performance theme. The subject matter can include anything that exemplifies music and/or dance. All media is encouraged. Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts announces a call to artists for an online juried art exhibition, June 26 – August 14, 2021. $4,000 in total. Best of Show: $1,000 and 5 month virtual solo show in 2022. Jurors: Dora Atwater Millikin + Dominic Molon. Open to all artists within North America. All work must be current and original. Work must not have been previously shown with CAFA. All fine arts media accepted: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, fiber, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, video installations. Slice: A Juried Exhibit of Regional Art

Pence Gallery in Davis, CA seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, July 6 – August 15, 2021. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded based on the Juror’s choice and are $400, $300, and $200. Juror: Faith J. McKinnie. This is an ‘open theme’ juried exhibit, which showcases art that is conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in California art. Art Teleported 2022: Call for Solo Exhibitions & Papers

CICA Museum invites creative writers, scholars, and artists worldwide to participate in “Art Teleported 2022,” the Art Show and Conference for Nomadic Artists. The solo shows will be held at CICA Museum in Gimpo-si January 26-30, 2022, and the conference will be held January 29-30, 2022. Due to the uncertain global situation, the conference will be held both onsite and online. We aim to create a global network among nomadic artists, designers, audiences, and communities and promote understanding and appreciation of each other, so they can make, share, appreciate, and live in art in any region and culture. The artists will be featured in the book “New Media Art 2023,” expected to be published in December 2022. The book will be available in major bookstores in Korea, and in the United States and other countries via Kindle. Around 44 square meters will be assigned for each artist. Every artist accepted will be provided with an opportunity to discuss the merits of his or her contribution with peers. Anthropocene Epiphany: Art and Climate Change

The Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, CA seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, July 3 to August 21, 2021. Juror: Erika Hirugami, Executive Director of the Art Historians of Southern California, and the CEO of CuratorLove. The Anthropocene is a new geologic era marked by the impact of human activity on the Earth. The term is gaining currency among curators and critics as artists confront the global climate crisis. In the Anthropocene Epiphany, highly accomplished creatives point the way toward a sustainable future. 2021 Sugar Creek Arts Festival

The McLean County Arts Center seeks artists for the 2021 Sugar Creek Arts Festival, October 9th & 10th in beautiful Uptown Normal, IL. $1,500 in awards: First and Second Place Fine Art, First and Second Place Fine Craft, and the D. Bill Memorial Award for Best use of recycled material. Categories: Ceramics, Fiber, Glass, Graphics, Jewelry, Photography, Painting, Sculpture, Wood, Other. All fine art and fine craft will be accepted for jury. The artwork presented must be original and created by the exhibiting artist. All artwork must be for sale. No more than 50% of a booth may be composed of giclee prints or other items of this type. Layers of Time; Upstream Gallery PaperWorks 8

Upstream Gallery in Hastings on Hudson seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, July 1-25. Jurors: David Barnett, Phyllis Famiglietti, Rachel Weatherford Whitlow. Artists are invited to submit 2-D or 3-D work that is primarily paper based and made by hand, rather than digitally. Successful entries will demonstrate clear thematic relationships among two or more pieces. Photography is not eligible. Maximum framed size may not exceed 30 x 40 inches. Accepted pieces must be able to be hung and properly wired or mounted for hanging. 3-D work must be ready for wall-mounting or have a base included. The Colored Pencil Society of America announces a call to artists for an online juried exhibition, opening July 15. $5000 Best of Show and CIPPY Award, and up to $12000 in other awards. Juror: Julie Aronson, PhD. This is an annual juried gallery exhibition exclusively for works done in colored pencil, open to living artists 18 years or older, worldwide. The PleinAir Salon $33,000 Art Competition is a monthly online competition consisting of 18 categories. We award $33,000 each year for this competition. The Annual Grand Prize winner receives a check for $15,000 and is featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine. We award an additional $6,500 to the annual winners and we award $1,100 monthly to the top three winners of each competition. Each of the 21 monthly winners will be automatically entered into the Annual Competition with awards presented live at the Plein Air Convention & Expo.
