Afternoon peeps! We are continuing our Arab American Heritage Month series into fashion.
There are few names that come to mind, Elie Saab, Georges Hobeika, Zuhair Murad, Georges Chakra, and Abed Mahfouz. All are Lebanese. All Arabic.
Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad are who I’m most familiar with. Of course, Saab is my favorite.
Nour Hage and Celine Semaan are also on my list of fashion designers.
Here is a small video of Nour Hage from Leblik, where she discusses her brand.
“The Travel Book is the first-ever non-wearable item by award-winning Lebanese fashion designer Nour Hage. Hage launched her eponymous brand was launched two years ago in Beirut. She has previously worked with Damir Doma, Elia Saab, Oscar de la Renta, Giambattista Valli, and others. Meet The Designer is a new series of videos by Lebelik showcasing new talent in the Lebanese fashion industry and their creations.“
You can visit her page at nourhage.com and notjustalabel.com.
Here are a few videos from Celine Semaan, a fashion activist, writer, and founder of The Slow Factory.
You can go to one of her websites celinecelines.com. You will also see The Slow Factory website.
We’ll continue with the series tomorrow. Enjoy your Wednesday, be safe, healthy, and blessed.
