Photographic call for entry “vistas”

A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX seeks entries for a juried photography exhibition, August 14 to September 27, 2020. Fifty to fifty-five images will be selected. Receptions will be held on August 29 and September 26, 2020. A Blurb full-color catalog with all the accepted entries will be available for purchase. Awards are $325 for Juror’s Award, $250 for Director’s Award, three Juror Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalog, discretionary Director Honorable Mentions each receiving an exhibition catalog, and $100 for Visitors’ Award. Juror: S Gayle Stevens. Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme “vistas”: glimpse, landscape, perspective, seascape, scene, panorama, scenery, cityscape, view, overlook, horizon. $38 for the first 5 images and $7 for each additional image. Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s 41st International Juried Exhibition

The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, September 26 – November 1, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 virus uncertainties, the show will be held online. Awards: $14,000+. Jurors: David R. Smith, Selection and Douglas Wiltraut, Awards. Open to all artists 18 or older, working with water media on paper. All work must be original, hand-created, and completed within the past 3 years. Paintings previously accepted in any PWS Exhibition are not eligible, including the online PWS Members Show. Your source material must be your own design or your own photograph. Prints, copies, classwork, photolithographic, or computer-generated artwork are not eligible. Maximum painting size is unlimited. Limner Gallery announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, September 1-30 at the Limner Gallery website, digital and print magazine publication. 1593 Project: A Call for Art from the Koger Center for the Arts

The Koger Center at The University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina announces a call to artists. $500 Stipend. We are looking for both performing and visual artists to submit pieces that they have created during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Artist must be 18 years or older and a South Carolina resident. Professional and nonprofessional artists are encouraged to apply. Any visual medium or genre of performing art is acceptable. Artists must not have appeared or be scheduled to appear at the Koger Center in professional performance or a previous visual arts presentation- exceptions would be granted if the artist was not involved in a leading capacity. “Abstract” International Call

ArtAscent Art & Literature Journal seeks entries for an online art exhibition, August 1, 2020, to August 1, 2022. Theme: Abstractions are all around us. Ideas can be abstract; existing as an idea, feeling, or quality but not having a tangible existence. Some conversations can be abstract, vague, and theoretical and not based on particular examples or facts. And of course, there is abstract art that evokes feelings without trying to realistically represent the appearance of people or things. Abstract art, like poetry, offers a fragment of a mysteriously familiar narrative without directly revealing it in a realistic way. Reveal your most Abstract thoughts. Entries may include 2- and 3-dimensional media, such as paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, installations, ceramics, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, photos of performance art, fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 900 words). 2020 Summerlin Festival of Arts

Artists are invited to apply for the Summerlin Festival of Arts, held October 10-11, 2020 at Downtown Summerlin in Las Vegas, NV. Jurors: Victoria Hart, Durette Candito, Eric Burwell. All artwork must be original and personally executed by the exhibiting artist. No purchased retail items such as hats or sunglasses, commercially produced kits, mass-produced items, or imports. No artisanal lotions, perfumes, food, or apparel. No representatives. Ceramic work must be hand thrown or hand-built, no molds. Reproductions from originals must be signed by the artist, editions numbered, and certificates of authenticity included in each sale. Some original work must be displayed along with reproductions. Only juried categories may be displayed. Any artwork or items not approved must be removed. Acceptable mediums: Basketry, Batik, Clay and Ceramics, Drawings, Glass, Gourds, Jewelry, Leather crafts, Metalwork, Mixed-media, Painting (oil, acrylics), Paper, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Watercolor, Weaving/Fiber Art (No apparel), Woodcrafts. $25 Application Fee. Pastel Exhibition – Marks of Distinction 2020

CMPS announces a call to pastel artists internationally to participate in our juried show, Marks of Distinction 2020, hosted online July 19th – August 31st. 1st Place: $1000, 2nd Place: $600, 3rd Place: $400 and additional prizes. Approximately $4000 in total value. Jurors of Selection: Lyn Asselta, IAPS-EP, PSA & Michael Freeman, IAPS-MC, PSA. Juror of Awards: Robert K. Carsten, IAPS-MC, PSA. Work must be 80% soft pastels, created within the last 3 years, and must not have been previously submitted to a CMPS show. No size restrictions. NFS work is admissible.
