Creative Close-Up

Reflections: Quarantine Creativity

A lot of us have been in quarantine for the past several weeks. For those who are artists, painters, musicians, photographers, and so forth, that means really getting creative with projects.

You may have put some on the backburner before this time and have used this time to get started.

For me, it’s about drawing, painting, illustration, and writing. Even creating some music. I would rather do those instead of the night time job I have. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful and grateful to be doing something for eight hours, but I’m at a point in my life that I’m ready to move on to something different.

A few of you probably are feeling the same.

Working on a project by yourself is relaxing. I think that this virus is doing is putting a stop to our lives so we can focus on what’s really important.

Yes, we would like to go to that workshop or conference, but when we are creating alone, you get a sense of peace you not getting when put together with people. If you have kids, there is no such thing as creating alone. With kids, you can definitely get creative!

So while some states are opening up (my state is, I wish this crackpot of a governor would reconsider), I hope you guys are taking the time to really create something great.

Have a safe rest of your Thursday, be safe, be healthy, be blessed!
