Brink Literacy Project is delighted to announce their F(r)iction Winter 2019 Literary Contests in short fiction, flash fiction, and poetry. Up to $1600 in prizes are available!
Each winner of the submission categories, along with the five top finalists, will be considered for publication in F(r)iction alongside original artwork from Brink’s talented team of artists. F(r)iction is dedicated to publishing the best writing of all kinds, and we encourage submissions that push boundaries and take risks in genre, plot, and style.
The deadline to submit is December 15, 2019.

The prompt for this contest is an amazing photograph that has turned an ordinary garden into an artwork of wonder and inspiration. We invite all you writers to create your own literary work of art based on this stunning picture. See how much you can say in just 350 words or less!
Our ongoing writing contests are open to all, including past winners. Read the 200+ stories that were shortlisted in past contests and get to know the winners from all over the world. We hope to be able to add you to our Winners List this year!!

Three entries will be shortlisted. From that shortlist, one overall winner of the competition will be chosen.
The shortlisted entrants and the overall winner will be personally notified and then publicly announced in March 2019.
The overall winner will receive a one hour 1-1 mentoring session with Bridget, via Skype, telephone or in-person.
The winning entry will also be published on the Wild Words website, and on social media platforms.
The two other shortlisted entries may also be published on the Wild Words website.

Write a poem, 30 lines or fewer on any subject, style, or form, typed or neatly hand printed.
And/or write a short story, 5 pages maximum length, on any subject or theme, fiction or non-fiction (including essay compositions, diary, journal entries, short screenplays, and screenwriting). Also, all entries must be either typed or legibly hand-printed.
Multiple and simultaneous poetry and short story entries are accepted.

Portraits of people and animals tell such great stories. They evoke emotion. They suggest a deeper meaning. They tell us about someone else, and maybe even ourselves. Sometimes they’re just beautiful. Or shocking. Or surprising. Share your PORTRAITS with words or imagery.
| Eligible Submissions:
Entries may include 2- and 3-dimensional media, such as paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, installations, ceramics, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, photos of performance art, fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 900 words). Submissions must be the original work of the applicant(s). Apply using the online form.
| Highlights:
Publication in a brilliant art magazine and online 2-year exhibition. Four top applicants will receive a feature section with a profile written about them. Up to 40 applicants will be selected for the full exhibition, all to be showcased in the magazine and the juried online exhibition.
