Fragmented Call for Submissions

Linus Gallery seeks entries for an online art exhibition. Awards: recognition, link to your website online, some social media promotion. Fragmented art, whether it be collages, abstracts, splintered art, or fractured art allows the viewer to see what the artist sees, in pieces woven together in a mosaic to narrate a story or a perception. It’s an abstract way of thinking, breaking down perspective into finite relative pieces. It makes no sense at first, and yet, it makes the ultimate sense. In this international art call, we are asking for the artist’s interpretation of fragmented art. Open to all professional and amateur artists. All art mediums will be considered: photography, wall sculpture, ceramics, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. $35 for 3 entries, $5 for additional entries. Deadline: January 7, 2019More info. Contact: email

One Shot: Calling for Works Made in One Sitting

The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, presents an open call for artwork exploring the theme of works made in one sitting. Selected artists are eligible for the annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize ($2,500). Whether it be an ‘alla prima’ approach to painting, a spontaneous drawing, an inspired collage, or some other form of artwork, one can only marvel at such works done with grace, precision, aggressive passion, and finality – ultimately all in one sitting. Regardless of whether it was the result of a brief moment or a long day of labor, a work of art made in one sitting tells a truth often hidden by other more refined works. With this in mind, we are eager to see what this truth looks like, and how it may vary from artist to artist, work to work. All types of work are welcome, including traditional and non-traditional approaches in any media, and any subject, non-objective, abstract, conceptual, etc. $40 entry fee. Deadline: January 8, 2019More info. Contact: email or call 513-861-3638.
