Favorite Scary Film: Bad Moon

10.10.18

Hello everyone! Every Wednesday of October 2018, I’m letting you know what my favorite scary movie is. I don’t know if this one has a cult following, but it’s becoming a favorite. Bad Moon.

Ted (Michael Paré) is working in Nepal when he and his girlfriend are attacked by a mysterious creature. Ted, though brutally maimed, survives, but his girlfriend is not so lucky. To help his recovery, Ted moves close to his sister, Janet (Mariel Hemingway), and her son, Brett (Mason Gamble), but soon realizes he was attacked by a werewolf. Ted is helpless to stop his transformation and only Brett’s German shepherd, Thor, is able to see that Ted is a danger to everyone around him.

Released on November 1, 1996, this film is based on a novel Thor by Wayne Smith. The story is in the novel is told by the dog’s viewpoint. The reviews weren’t good and the film didn’t do well either, but it’s one of those horror films you can’t really ignore. Especially the dog, I like him a lot!

Available on DVD or Blu-ray. Have a blessed and safe Hump Day Wednesday!
