Photo Shoot 2017
International Deadline: September 8, 2017 – Black Box Gallery is excited to announce an open themed juried group photo show. Show us your favorite photographic shots!
Open to all themes and ideas, all styles and genres, all perspectives on craftsmanship and photographic creativity. Great opportunity for landscape, architecture, portraiture, documentary, fashion, still life, conceptual projects, street, color and black and white, nature, night photography.
This will be a fun show with a great diversity of photographs!
Exhibition Dates: October 1-20, 2017
Opening Reception: Friday, October 6, 6-8:00 pm
The exhibition is open to all photographers world wide, both amateur and professional.
JUROR: Todd Johnson
Todd Johnson is the founder and director of Black Box Gallery. Todd received his MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has been a photography portfolio reviewer for Photolucida (Portland, OR) and has juried The Drawers Program for Blue Sky Gallery (Portland, OR). Each exhibition will have 24 photographs selected by the juror for exhibition at the gallery.

All exhibition prints will be kept in a flat file after the show for future sale and promotion for the photographer. This will allow the gallery to further promote our photographers and exhibitions to collectors, curators, critics and to the general public. Black Box will

FREE PRINTING & FRAMING
Black Box provides free printing, Free matting and Free framing for all of our exhibitions. We have 18” x 24” black frames. Our white mats are pre-cut for 12” x 18”, 12” x 12” and 12” x 16” prints (we also have a few other odd sized mats). We print on an Epson Stylus Pro archival ink jet printer, on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper, in a color-calibrated environment. This is a very accurate custom print, just like a custom lab would print, we have over 25 years of custom printing experience.
$35 per entry (an entry includes up to 5 photos).

All photographers will be notified 10-14 days after the deadline about juror selections.
Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, 50% goes to the photographer. If artist prefers the print does not have to be for sale. Print will be for exhibition and promotion only.
All rights to the photographs remain with the photographer.

The Chelsea International Photography Competition
International Deadline: September 13, 2017 – Photographers at both the amateur and professional level are invited to enter the Chelsea International Photography Competition.
With a fierce dedication to promoting the arts and discovering and exposing new talent, the CIPC will honor selected artists with an exhibition at Agora Gallery, providing invaluable exposure to promote career growth and boost recognition.
There are two competition categories: Amateur and Professional. National and international submissions are welcome. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

This year’s competition awards are valued at over $55,000 and are designed specifically to support our larger mission: to promote the spread of extraordinary and innovative art in our modern world and to ensure the future productivity and enhance the careers of selected artists.
Selected photographers will participate in the collective exhibition and receive valuable PR opportunities. A portion of the gallery’s proceeds from artwork sales will be donated to the Children’s Heart Foundation.
Amateur Photography: $25 for up to 5 images with a fee of $5 for each additional image.
Professional Photography: $45 for up to 5 images with a fee of $5 for each additional image.
