Summer of Love

Arc Gallery in San Francisco seeks entries for “Summer of Love,” May 20 – June 10, 2017. This exhibition pays tribute to the 1967 Summer of Love and celebrates its 50th anniversary. Bay Area artists are invited to submit works that celebrate or reimagine the brief period in 1967 that was the Summer of Love. $250 Juror’s Award to 3 artists for work with most imaginative interpretation. Artists may explore these themes: Peace, Love, Freedom; social movements that arose out of the Summer of Love such as Anti-war, Environmental, Free Speech, Black Power, Women’s Movement, Gay Rights, Sexual Revolution, Farm Workers, Student Movement; anti-establishment attitudes; hippies and flower children; psychedelia; 1967 bands and music; pop art & pop art; fiber art incorporating tie-dye, macramé, embroidery or beading; poster art; and artwork utilizing fonts popular in that era. Open to artists residing in the Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus. $25 entry fee. Lodi Community Art Center 57th Annual Spring Art Show

The Lodi Art Community Center announces a call to artists for the 57th Spring Art Annual, May 5-20, 2017 in Lodi, CA. $3,000+ in awards. Juror: Carolyn Lord. You will notice several changes this year. The show is at our gallery in Lodi’s charming old downtown, an area filled with wine tasting rooms, galleries, small shops, and restaurants. Categories: Oils and Acrylics, Watercolor, Drawing and graphics, Mixed Media, 3D Sculpture. Early Bird, 2 entries for $35 plus $15 each for additional entries. International Gallery of the Arts (IGOA) announces a call to artists for an online art exhibition, April 1-30, 2017. Open to all international artists, 18 and older. There is no specific theme for this exhibit! All types and mediums of fine art will be accepted. VAA 34th Juried Open Exhibition

The Visual Arts Alliance announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, May 1 – June 3, 2017, at Spring Street Studios in Houston, TX. Over $3,000 in cash will be awarded. Contemporary Art Gallery Online Announces an International Call for Artists

Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces a call to artists for an online juried art exhibition, April 1-30, 2017. Jurors: Sharon Drinkard – Curator of Contemporary Art Gallery Online, Michael Harris – Art Collector, Gallery Board Member, Portia T. Webb. All 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience or education in the art field are encouraged to enter. Artists should submit their best representational and non-representational art. This competition will be judged within three categories; Paintings, Photography & Digital Art and Mixed Media & 3D Work. Awards will be given for the top 5 to 8 works selected, (this will depend on the number of submissions in each category). In addition to the winning images, depending on the amount and the quality of the entries received, Honorable Recognition awards will also be presented. CT+6, A Regional Juried Exhibit

The West Hartford Art League announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, April 30 – June 4, 2017, in West Hartford, CT. $1000 Best in Show, $750 2nd Place, other awards and prizes. Juror: Min Jung Kim, Director, New Britain Museum of American Art. Open to artists living in CT, New York, and New England in the following mediums: Painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, photography, ceramics, printmaking, and collage. Up to four works may be entered. Limit two acceptances. Work must have been created during the last 2 calendar years and not previously exhibited in a WHAL juried show. Framed dimensions may not exceed 50 inches on longest side. Sculptures may not weigh more than 50 lbs. $20 each for non-members or 4 for $80. $15 each for members or 4 for $60. Utopia/Dystopia: A National Juried Exhibition

Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs, NY seeks entries for a national juried exhibition, May 20 – June 30, 2017. $1,000 in cash awards, “Best in Show” receives $500! Juror: John Massier, curator at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. Artists are invited to submit images depicting visions of the future. Artwork may reflect the idea of utopia, dystopia, or a combination of the two, as interpreted by the artist. Open to artists working in all media. This exhibition is open to all U.S. residents at least 18 years of age. Utopia: An imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect. Dystopia: An imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. $30 for up to 3 submissions, $35 for up to 6.
