Film Review: Kong: Skull Island

March 13 / 17 I’m sure most of you spent time in theaters to see Kong: Skull Island. Directed by Jordan Vogt-Rodgers, this latest adventure is different from Peter Jackson’s version. First, it’s not three hours long and second, it gets to the point. Set in 1973, an expedition is heading to Skull Island. The expedition includes government agent Bill Randa (John Goodman), a young biologist Houston Brooks (Corey Hawkings), former British Special Air Service Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), a pacifist photojournalist Mason Weaver (Brie Larson), a US Army Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) and a handful of other characters. They begin to drop seismic explosives to map out the island….not only does that shake up the wildlife, but a huge creature, a 100-foot tall ape known as Kong and he’s is not too thrilled to see them coming on his home turf.
