Morning all! Just one post today….short and to the point. Have a few things going on in the literary department. Just some literary opportunities to share with you…..


WHEELBARROW BOOKS POETRY PRIZE

Sponsored by RCAH Center for Poetry at MSU: Open to authors of a published full-length poetry collection. $1,000 award and book publication, with distribution by MSU Press. Original, unpublished poetry manuscripts in English, minimum 64 pages. $25 reading fee.

Postmark deadline: October 1, 2016. Complete guidelines: poetry.rcah.msu.edu.

 


CALVINO PRIZE 12TH ANNUAL CALVINO PRIZE

Sponsored by the University of Louisville. For a short story or novel in the fabulist, experimental vein of Italo Calvino. Final Judge for 2016: Jonathan Lethem, award-winning acclaimed novelist. 1st prize, $1,500 plus publication in the Salt Hill Journal. 2nd Prize, $300. 1st place winner invited, expenses paid, to read winning entry at the Louisville Conference on Literature and Culture held in February at the University of Louisville.

BRICK ROAD POETRY BOOK CONTEST

Currently there are no open submissions, but keep reading……you still have chance if you just click the site below.

Prize: $1,000, publication, and twenty-five copies

Description: We’re accepting book-length poetry manuscripts only. Original collection of fifty to one hundred pages of poetry, excluding cover page, contents, acknowledgments, etc. Submit singe sided, single spaced, and paginated manuscripts (we prefer no more than one poem per page) online: https://brickroadpoetrypress.submittable.com/submit/1211.

Use the title of your collection for the file name, and include two title pages: one with your name, address, and phone number, and one with your title only. Include a cover letter.
