Shadowbox Tribute….David Bowie

Shadowbox Tribute….David Bowie

January 11 / 16

Hello again. I’ve decided to do a Shadowbox tribute…..We lost a creative legend. David Bowie passed away yesterday from cancer, he was 69. Bowie was a force of nature in the entertainment world. From his glam-rock days as Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, and beyond, Bowie wasn’t just a music genius, but an all around creative genius. As some of you may or may not know, Bowie was also an actor from The Man Who Fell From Earth, Labyrinth, and a handful of other films, Bowie was a busy guy. His latest and last album, Blackstar was released January 8, his 69th birthday. I’ll let his work speak just how brilliant his was……

Lastly, one of my favorite David Bowie songs…..

Blackstar is available on iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal.

January Shadow Spotlight: Stephen King

January Shadow Spotlight: Stephen King

January 11 / 16

Hey….Monday, Monday….we’re all recovering from the weekend. I’m scratching off Artist and replacing it with Shadow Spotlight. Shadowbox is focusing on all forms of creativity….and I’m mean this blog is doing just that! The legendary Stephen King is this month’s Shadow Spotlight. If you don’t know this master of horror, supernatural, suspense, fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy, you must be living under a rock! From The Shining, Misery, It, Carrie, The Stand, The Dark Tower….King has created a mass collection of literary works.

Not only has his work been read, but most of have appeared on the big screen and on tv. Carrie, The Shinning, Christine, Firestarter, and It. What makes his stories interesting? It’s just a fact that King can tell a pretty damn good story. These days, King is still turning out stories, his most recent, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, his tenth collection of short stories was released back in November.

So far, King has published 54 novels, seven under the pin name Richard Bachman. He wrote six non-fiction books, and written 200 short stories. This a literary legend with no signs of slowing down.

Quotes from Stephen King:
Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.
Fiction is the truth inside the lie.
We make up horrors to help us cope with the real ones.
