Editor’s Desk: October 2015

October 1, 2015

Volume 3 / Number 10

Hello! October is here….Shadowbox is doing things different this time. First thing, film festivals. We’ve already had the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), now Shadowbox is scouring for more film festivals that may be coming this month. If you’re a die-hard horror fan, then some horror film festival will strike your fancy and there are plenty to choose from. Telluride Horror Show, Atlanta Horror Film Festival, and the Eerie Horror Film Festival & Expo to name a few…

It’s been awhile since I posted anything about photography, but I did manage to find some pretty good photography exhibitions. For example, Who’s Afraid of Women Photographers, which will be held at the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. from October 14, 2015 till January 24, 2016. For those who may be visiting Paris around those dates, I will be posting information about the exhibition for this weekends art-scene.

For this month’s @the Museum, we’re heading over Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. That’s should be interesting.

The Crimson Peak Fan Contest is coming to a close, so that means I will be busy reading fan fiction and looking at art work. The winners will be named later on this month. So someone will have a Fandango Gift Card or movie poster coming to them.

I’m doing something different for this month’s Spotlight Artist. Not sure what’ll be, but it will be pretty cool. Be on the look out for call for artists, art exhibitions, writing conferences, and more. This will be a pretty busy October!

Almost forgot….as you know October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shadowbox will be honoring and remembering those who are fighting the disease.
