Artscene Wednesday: Upcoming Juried Shows, Gallery Setting, Exhibitions

Hello everybody! Lots of creative things are going on in September. I wanted to take the time to share with you two of those events….


This October, in partnership with the Fredericksburg Spinner and Weavers Guild, Liberty Town Arts Workshop presents Fiber, an exhibition celebrating everything fiber. We want to showcase the full breadth of fiber art, including but limited to weaving, dying, felting, sculpture, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Fiber can be, but not limited to cotton, wood, wool, paper, metal, or synthetic materials.
October 2015. Fredericksburg, VA. All media, 2- & 3-D. Cash awards. Entry fees: $25 for 1st piece ($15 for members) & $5 each additional. Electronic submission, see the “Call for Artists” section on for details.


A national juried exhibition sponsored by the Louisiana Art and Artist’s Guild. Open to all U.S. artists 18+ (except photography or digitally enhanced). Work must be original and created within the last 2 years.
Juror: Diantha York-Ripley. $40 for first 3 entries (maximum 10 entries) $4,000+ in awards. Entry deadline is September 14; exhibit is December 4-29, 2015 at the Louisiana State Archives Building in Baton Rouge, LA.
