Hello Wednesday! Humpy Hump Day…..as this newsletter asks, are there any art shows or competitions going on? Yes and here is a few that are going on.


UPCOMING ART SHOWS FOR 2014 & 2015

Exhibit Dates: February 4-28, 2015
Title: International Krappy Kamera Competition 2015 / New York, New York
Sponsor/Venue: Soho Photo Gallery
  Awards: First, second and third place
  Juror: Miriam Leuchter
  Eligibility: The Competition is open to all photographers age 18 years or older, excluding members of the Soho Photo Gallery. Any photographic print medium will be accepted as long as the original capture was made with a qualifying camera. Examples of Krappy Kameras are Holga, Diana, Ansco and pinhole cameras. The lens is the determining factor.
  Fees: 1-5 images $40, 6-10 images $65, 11-15 images $85

  Title: 36th Annual Juried Art Exhibition / Lincroft, New Jersey
  Sponsor/Venue: Monmouth Museum
  Awards: 4 monetary Juror Awards and 4 Honorable Mention Awards
  Juror: TBA
  Eligibility: Open to all artists world-wide age 17 and over. All artwork entered must be the artist’s original creations completed within the last five years, and must not have been exhibited in past Monmouth Museum exhibitions.
  Fees: $20 per piece entered (limit 4 pieces); Ex: 4 submissions=$80; No refunds if not selected
  Commission: The Monmouth Museum will collect a 20% sales commission.

Title: Chroma Call for Art / Cambridge, Massachusetts
Venue: Gallery 263
  Juror: Lynda Schlosberg (Boston-based artist, Kingston Gallery)
  Eligibility: A national juried call for work on hue, saturation and value. Apply with your most glowing, blushing, luscious artwork in any medium! Online applications only. Open to all United States residents. Artwork must be no more than 5 years old and complete. All mediums considered. See website for size restrictions. Installations must be simple to assemble or installed by artist. Time Media: No length restrictions. Submit with links to streaming or DVD.
  Fees: $25/1-3 entries, $40/4-6 entries

Title: Boston 2050: High Water – Call for Environmental 2D and 3D Art /Boston, Massachusetts

  Eligibility: The Boston High Water Collective requests 2D and 3D art that focuses on the impact of flooding in Boston by 2050 and thereafter. Artists, architects and planners 18 years and older are invited to submit. Please email us for a prospectus at highwatercollective@gmail.com

Title: Threads of Life: Fiber Arts Exhibit / Shippensburg, Pennsylvania
Venue: SHAPE (Shippensburg Arts Programming & Education), a 501c3 nonprofit gallery celebrating its 15 anniversary this year
  Juror: Becky Myers
  Eligibility: Original works of art, functional and non-functional, 2D and 3D work using fiber of all forms; weaving, felting, quilting, yarn, mixed fiber, etc. All work must be of original design. No kits or pattern work will be accepted. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches in any direction. 2D work must be ready to hang with pockets and dowel or flat rods extending one inch on each side beyond the edge of the work. 3D work must be free-standing or submitted with a support. (Dress forms for apparel may be available on a limited basis.) Intake dates are December 29, 4-6pm and December 30, 4-6pm. Artists who cannot deliver work on these dates should contact Becky Myers info@shapeart.org to arrange for drop off.
