ARTSCENE: WHAT’S UP…..BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH, MoMA & ART21

October 15, 2014

Hello Wednesday! There are three things I wanna talk about….

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Just a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Everyone is doing their part to putting an end to this vicious disease. The goal: to increase the awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

To be honest all forms of cancer need awareness as well. It’s not just breast cancer. From prostrate, ovary, to lung cancer…all forms!

WHAT IS ART 21?

Art 21 is a PBS series, an educational resource, archive, and history of contemporary art. The series premiered in 2001, and is now broadcast in over 50 countries worldwide. Premiering a new season every two years, it is the only series on U.S. television to focus exclusively on contemporary visual art and artists.

Art 21 is also a nonprofit organization founded in 1997 to make contemporary art more accessible to the public and document 21st century art and artist from the artists’ own perspective. The goal is to raise profile of major player in the world of contemporary art and to encourage creativity.
